I’m trying to find where to wire my dash cam inside my TH, without having to run wiring through the firewall to the fuse box. Anyone done this? I need a 12v always hot and a 12v switched source to tap into.
New TH owner here with same issue. Need a switched 12v source for mine. Seems this is not as easy as in other cars that have fuse boxes in the passenger compartment. I read somewhere to look for a pink wire with a yellow stripe but that just does not seem to be specific enough. Does anyone have a wiring diagram and/or pics of exactly best wire to tap? FWIW, manual says for constant power to tap positive right off the battery which is under the passenger seat, and ground to frame.
I ended up running through the firewall as I needed a constant and a switched 12V. If you just need a switched, you can get that behind the rear view mirror or stereo.
what camera are you guys using? Ive always wanted a dash cam. the ones I look at all have monthly fees and weird stuff like that. I just want the camera to film when car is on and let me see the info the next day if needed.
I run a Thinkware F770. I am very happy as it turns itself on when there is motion or movement. I don’t find myself reviewing the videos as I could, do not a need for me to have a cloud storage option with its monthly payments.
