Just got the price for the Trackhawk here in Australia inc the import cost tax , luxury car tax and finally the goods and service tax including the exchange rate totals $170,000.00 AUD or $142,000.00 US around $60,000.00 AUD tax , i cannot believe the total , to start with the luxury car tax was imposed to protect the car manufacturing in Australia EG Holden / Ford / Toyota etc however there are no manufactures left here as the last to go was Holden over a year ago yet the 33% tax still applies , so dissapointed , we wont be seeing too many on our roads down here.......

Are you still getting one???? Be no way in  I could afford that hit......Would have to hit the lotto lol
That's really messed up, no way to win on that. I wouldn't buy one down there either, couldn't afford to at that price anyway.

So you either pay them a ton of money for no reason, or you don't get a vehicle that you want but either way you better bring some lube to protect your backside. Really frustrating I am sure.
Jeez!!! 😬😬😬

What about buying it and then disassembling it enough to the point that your shipping parts (separately) and not a running vehicle? Granted, that'll cost you some money to deconstruct and reconstruct, but nowhere near the import tax they impose on imported vehicles. I don't think that tax would apply to parts, but you would still have to pay duties on it, which is minimal if it's anything like the US. I think ours is 3% on the declared value, which you can set yourself within reason. If this will work I think your looking at a fraction of the cost of the import tax on the running vehicle.

Just brainstorming...You may want to look into it.
its a complete joke that they think they will sell here at that price when for another 10k ( $180k AUD total ) you can get two brand new 2017 grand cherokee SRT's and i dont want to do that as i have a 2015 and a 2016 grand SRT's already , maybe look at a Whipple charger , upgraded shafts and a Borla exhuast for my one.

Since you have two dayum JGC SRTs lol, I would roll with this route IMO and still have money to put a down payment on a house haha. Good luck man though and sorry to hear about price gouging.
