New owner here... Was just under the TH for the first time, preparing for an oil change and noticed the exhaust is crimped or pinched. This might be a stupid question, but is this damage or by design? There are no marks on the opposite side and no other damage or deformations. Looks like it was put there almost too perfect to be damage. Can anyone help? Thanks. Will try to post picture. Still need to figure that out.

its by design to access the bolt/nut above, (I forget which).

Auto companies are always doing that stupid stuff. Ive seen it too many times. you'd think they would know better in this application.

I know this is an old thread brought back to life, but I believe it comes from the factory for whatever reason, just to vice the exhaust while welding or access to a screw. But seems to be a significant blockage, especially if your planning on Turning up the Boost. Had it cut out of my exhaust as well.

That should increase the 0-60 time significantly... (I'm Kidding). the other way is to solve that is to remove the suitcase and make that thing sounds like it should. Pipes are nice and straight with plenty of room to access that bolt.

I’d like to make my TH sound as good as my old stock HC Charger. Definitely going to delete that suitcase resonator.
On the exhaust crimps, while it’ll make you cringe there would be little to no performance increase by replacing it with a mandrel bend. Many dyno tests have shown this on other platforms.
