Trackhawk Reportedly Confirmed, We Explain Why It Hasn't Happened Already

Let's get one thing straight: We want a 707-horsepower Grand Cherokee Hellcat to happen. Badly. The latest report from Motor Authority is encouraging; the bonkers SUV supposedly has a codename, Project K, and has been given the green light for production. Fingers crossed.

You might be wondering why the Trackhawk isn't already a thing. Hellcat engines exist, SRT Grand Cherokees exist, so just combine the two, right? It's not quite that easy. Here, we outline what needs to happen, why it should be the quickest Hellcat vehicle out there, and why it won't come anywhere near 200 miles per hour.

It seems as though they need to do work on the transfer case, That massive torque just chews up gears.

That they will, folks will be beating on these nearly as much as they will with the challenger, it's going to have to take that abuse. Plus the last thing FCA needs is bad press although this is a micro-niche product.

thats still a ton of torque to run through half shafts...
It is, i'm no expert but i'm sure there will have to be some changes done to bring the setup up to par, just not sure exactly what that will involve.

That might be information we'll find out from FCA when the time is right.
Whilst reviewing the threads, I came across this one and then found an interesting web article. The article provides information on the transfer case along with pictures.

How JEEP made the Grand Cherokee strong enough
Yup. Handles it Well.
Although my Mate didn't quite get the Launch sorted we still put down some rubber 🙂
