Jeff Glucker from Hooniverse found it hard to keep his latest vehicle review PG-13 and who cane blame him when the car in question is the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.
Serving up 707 ponies is the 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine and the supercharger alone takes up 2.4 liters. Combined with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, drivers will find themselves rocketing forward on all wheels from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.
Of course some things had to be beefed up in order to safely handle the Hellcat’s 645 lb-ft of torque. All areas of the drivetrain were reinforced including the transfer case, which needed a wider and stronger chain handle whatever the engine can throw at it. Glucker certainly showcased what the motor could do, but there’s more to the Trackhawk than just beating unsuspecting supercars off the line with launch control.
There’s plenty of room for passengers and cargo, so if you don’t mind stopping for fuel often thanks to the Trackhawk’s eight to nine miles per gallon fuel economy, then this Grand Cherokee variant could make for an amazing road trip machine.
“You can walk into a dealership and leave with the keys to a 707-horsepower Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's called the Trackhawk, and it's the best, dumbest vehicle ever built.” We couldn’t agree more Glucker, we couldn’t agree more.
