Jeep May Develop More Trackhawk Models

What’s better than a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk? More Hellcat powered models with the same Trackhawk badge!

Though it’s still too early to tell how well the Trakhawk will perform in sales, a few forum members have already put down a deposit for one, which means there is a market for high performance SUVs and Jeep may be interested in additional Trakhawk in the future.

Jeep head of brand Scott Tallon spoke with Drive and said there are only so many companies out there developing performance SUVs and crossovers. "Performance leaning utility’ is a relatively new concept. There’s only been a few players in this space. So as this space develops there could be an opportunity for anyone to capitalise on it.”

Though no specific models were named and there are no immediate plans for additional Trackhawk models, the idea of a Renegade Trackhawk did intrigue him. Of course if that does come to pass, it’ll still have to meet Jeep’s internal benchmarks. Perhaps sporting the same 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 engine, the Renegade could deliver 707 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque.

Of course this is all speculation, but do let us know what Trackhawk SUV or crossover you’d like to see in the future.

Just seen that Ford will be producing a Raptor version of the Ranger pick up which means a lot for us because well... it sits in a segment below the Grand Cherokee.

In other words my friends.... expect a Cherokee Trackhawk ;)
That doesn't make much sense to me. I don't think they will dilute their brand by offering a Trackhawk version of lesser model vehicles. It'd be like if they offered a Trackhawk Grand Cherokee before offering an SRT Grand Cherokee, which didn't happen. Or offering a Hellcat Charger or a Hellcat Challenger before offering an SRT version of it first, that didn't happen either. My own opinion is that this stays a very limited production vehicle and there won't be any Trackhawk versions of other models. Those models may get an SRT package option first way before ever contemplating offering a Trackhawk option. It's just the normal path of chronologoly, so I'm calling bogus on that article. I think it's a far fetched idea that won't happen. But that's just my two cents...

It might be a way for them to spread Ford Performance like Mercedes with AMG. There's risk to doing this but the long term benefit is better brand image for even the lower end products that wouldn't have been seen as cool. We'll never know their real intentions but that might be one of them.

Well FCA IS dropping the SRT off the whole Jeep brand

So Trackhawk may become the SRT equivalent in the Jeep brand.

I doubt the Hellcat engine would be a option in anything else.

2,500 (Number given by sources) - 3,000 at most.
There’s no way they’re making 6-10k of these, there won’t be nearly enough demand to even sell that many. I don’t think there’s been any official announcement yet, but probably more along the lines of the Demon production numbers from what I’ve heard.
Sounds like we're due for a dealer allocation thread to get a sense of how this could play out. Odds are dealers might know something and can spill some beans on whats happening, unless sources like AllPar get to it before we do.
