Performance On a New Level

As the new Trackhawk continues to roll out to owners, highlighting on its performance capabilities that will soon be experienced in the real world (and already is for some) is important. Especially as talk about aftermarket performance parts can be found throughout this community and others based around the Trackhawk, here we have broken down what that will be benchmarked off of. Ringing in a new level of performance SUV's are specs such as 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds with the sort of braking, suspension, and drivetrain to tame it all. As owners bump up what it does in the 1320, 11.6 seconds is the time to beat.

Say hello to a new standard in SUV performance. The All-New Grand Cherokee Trackhawk goes from 0-60 mph in a blindingly quick 3.5 seconds. But that’s not all. Braking, handling, torque and horsepower have all been tuned to make Trackhawk an elite driving experience. Add in ultra-premium luxury and it joins the Grand Cherokee SRT® as a pair of spectacular track and street-proven Jeep® Brand 4x4s.

Get behind the wheel of the quickest SUV ever and be ready for a mind-bending experience. The Supercharged 6.2L HEMI® V8 engine spools up with a launch control and a torque reserve system to deliver an incredible 11.6 second quarter-mile time. All this is backed by renowned SRT® performance engineering that combines world-class on-road dynamics with luxury, refinement and an array of advanced technology.

Hellcat Powertrain

Congrats if you moved up from the regular SRT version because this supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 packing 707 horsepower and 50 less of that in torque might be enough to play with. To all others, 1000 horses is a goal that has been met with the Challenger and Charger Hellcat, only a matter of time (if not already) someone does it here. In the end, aside from a highly modified Lamborghini Urus, this could very well be the fastest street-legal SUV to run down the 1320.

Grand Cherokee performance is taken to new heights thanks to the expertise of the Street and Racing Team (SRT)—the high-performance group of FCA US LLC. The team maximizes power and torque on two powerhouse engines, taking advantage of HEMI® technology in the SRT® and the remarkable Supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 engine on Trackhawk.

SUPERCHARGED 6.2L HEMI® V8 ENGINE
High-strength, forged-alloy pistons, powder-forged connecting rods and sodium-cooled exhaust valves all add to the earth-shaking, supercharged power. The Supercharged 6.2L HEMI® V8 helps make the Trackhawk the fastest accelerating SUV and gives it the fastest quarter-mile time and highest torque rating of any SUV.

Track King

Out the gate we got track performance that impressed most publications but the real challenge to owners increasing power to levels seen in other Hellcat models is having well rounded performance. Those stock, although high-performance Brembos, might not stop you on a dime even with 15 inches of rotor and 6-piston calipers. Thankfully with the Grand Cherokee SRT being out for many years already, there should be a decent selection of aftermarket parts to pair with ambitious power increases.

The All-New Jeep® Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is a spectacular all-around performer with a top speed of 180 mph, a 60-0 mph braking distance of 114 feet and .88 g-force capability on the skid pad.

STOPPING POWER
High-performance Brembo brake systems provide the stopping power for the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and SRT®. Trackhawk is equipped with two-piece vented rotors and six-piston front Brembo calipers painted a distinctive yellow. SRT® is equipped with massive 15-inch front rotors and six-piston calipers clad in red.

Handling

In this era of performance vehicles handling is just as important and thankfully Jeep equipped the Trackhawk well with components also used on the earlier SRT model. These being a Bilstein adaptive dampening suspension system, an Electronic LSD with shorter gear ratios and wider stance thanks to Pirelli Z-Rated tires. Of course with power improvements owners will be doing, how these various areas of the Trackhkawks handling get improved will be interesting. Who will be the first with a well rounded build?

The All-New Jeep® Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and SRT® feature world-class on-road driving dynamics thanks to an upgraded TorqueFlite® eight-speed automatic transmission, a five-drive-mode Selec-Track® System and Bilstein® adaptive damping suspension.

Electronic Limited Slip Differential (ELSD)
The rear ELSD has a short 3.70:1 gear ratio and features a stronger housing with four-point axle mounting to better distribute the massive power to the wheels.

Wide Track
Trackhawk and SRT® feature a wide stance that is accentuated by a one-inch lower ride height when compared to other Grand Cherokee models. Grip is maximized with available Pirelli® Z-rated tires.

Bilstein® Adaptive Suspension System
The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and SRT® feature a Bilstein® adaptive suspension system designed to make even the most exhilarating drive a smooth one
