Production delay?

I ordered mine on Aug. 10th and have not gotten any feedback from the dealer. I wasn't in a particular hurry so I didn't get around to calling my dealer until last week to get my VIN. Called FCA and they had no record of it. Called the dealer back and asked them to look into it. They called me back and advised that there is a 3 month production delay, but could offer no details. Sounds fishy to me, but not sure what I can do about it. Any chance there's any truth to it?

I was getting the run around when I called FCA too, so I just stopped calling and waited to hear from my dealer. I ordered mine on Aug 14th and was told a few weeks ago by my dealer that it would be shipped November 22. My dealer confirmed just today that it is still on track and should be on the truck tomorrow. Sounds like maybe someone forgot to place your order, that’s what the production delay is - that it hasn’t even been ordered yet. Good luck with resolving this.
Ordered on Sept 4th. On Nov. 3rd FCA said mine was "on the ramp", she thought that meant the start of build and would be shipped Nov. 8th. Followed up with the dealer who said would ship Nov. 28th and still in D-1. Called FCA today and "still on the ramp", she said probably the delivery truck ramp. ROFL I also won't bother calling FCA again.

A relative in So. Mich. ran into a FCA brake engineer at a social gathering who was brought in when they were having some brake issues. He said they were on schedule for early December...what schedule? Must be secret.

The dealer should have your name with the VIN on their computer. Likely D-1 status if they truly ordered it for you. Good luck.
I got an email from my dealer a few weeks ago about my VIN and status. He sent me a screen shot of DealerTrack. Called FCA to get a status and they said my VIN was from an '80s model. Radio silence since. I am not in a big hurry, just excited to get the beast.
There are over 600 Trackhawks in rework I've been in JS for over a month. I'm buying a new one today. .that maybe here sooner.
FCA by my math can only make 1 out of 10 Jeeps correctly off the build line. Don't belive the perfect quality bullshit line..they maybe perfect but only after months of rework. What a joke FCA is.
Cancelled mine. My alphabet was going backwards. KZ>D1>D. She said there is no way I would be getting mine by the end of the year. In fact February was more likely. I ordered on aug 14 as well. Just gonna keep my 2016 RRS supercharged dynamic and get a used GTR instead for fun.

That sucks to hear. Couldn’t you buy something before the end of the year and then trade that in for the TH in 2018 and still get your tax break?

I ordered mine on August 14th as well, and supposedly mine “left the assembly floor” a couple of days ago. I’m not sure what letter code that would correlate with, but my dealer told me to expect it by mid December give or take a week.
Weird how yours was pushed back so much and other are expected to arrive on time. Sorry to hear that you had to cancel your order.
Some have been in QC way too long. Amazing that the mass assembly line was invented over 100 years ago but FCA cant build theTrackhawk with quality in mind. They have to QC then repair.

All in the name of "perfect " but read Facebook and still new deliveries are reporting problems.

What do you think of this...?

A Demon built in the middle of September is still in rework. ..what could be so wrong to keep it under wraps that long?

It would be easier to build a new vehicle and start over.

Yes I suppose I could. Just got disheartened by the whole process of getting excited and then lied to a few times. If I can’t get my 5k deposit back I will keep the TH. I never signed any contract at all. In fact I just gave my cc over the phone to hold. If I get a call in January I will decide then. Congrats on your status! I believe that’s KZ status.
I got The KZ status last night as well, the final countdown is on...
So KZ status means it's in transit? Did they give you a way to track your vehicle while it's on the move?

Yes KZ means it left the factory. I know now that it cross the border and is now on the train . My dealer is giving me daily update but it is not a precise as the info I get from Milou....
She didn't sound real sure of herself, but the nice lady at FCA says I'm now in D1

Not what I like to hear. Of all models to cut cost on, flagship models aren`t it. But FCA knows this and knows regardless people will buy due to how much power these cars are making alone.
