Hello all,

The shop I'm having tune my TH only has a 2-wheel dyno. They said they don't use it for tuning the THs as it's bad for the transfer case (and yes, they know how to disconnect them). They have somewhere they go to street tune them. It's a reputable SRT shop. Anyone else heard this?

Dusterhoff remote tuned my TH that way. In some regards street tuning is a more accurate method, because on a dyno several variables are not present like wind resistance, vehicle weight transfer, etc... Even if I had a vehicle dyno tuned, I would still want the tune cleaned up on the street afterwards and if racing, after a track pass or 2.

My shop is next to the dyno shop. He does it like 30birdy says, dyno tunes and then street tunes after that if possible.

To me, dyno tuning is for recordable numbers but will not necessarily be appropriate for street driving. I think you dyno tune to get max throttle calibrated but then you street tune after that to help drivability.
